Polyhedral Conference Representation as a Catalyst for Innovation

Polyhedral animation of IPRA 2008

-- / --

Produced on the occasion of the conference of the International Peace Resarch Association (Leuven, 2008) -- Building Sustainable Futures: Enacting Peace and Development

Context

The animation accessible below is produced as part of an exploration for which arguments are developed in detail in a series of papers:

Animation

The animation was developed from materials describing the IPRA 2008 conference programme on the web. The animation is currently available in three formats:

A compromise was sought in developing these animations in order to limit their size for purposes of download. The motion is therefore somewhat jerky at 12 frames/sec. There is no audio.

Software

The animation was produced through use of the Stella Polyhedron Navigator software application developed by Robert Webb. Demo versions of the software can be freely downloaded. The relevance of this application is discussed in detail in Polyhedral Pattern Language: software facilitation of emergence, representation and transformation of psycho-social organization (2008).
